Arch Personal Care Products LP, a unit of Arch Chemicals Inc., and GeneLink Inc., Margate, NJ, have begun collaborative efforts to market newly-developed formulations containing skin care actives that can be linked to Gene-Link’s genetic testing system for determining an individual’s skin characteristics, executives said.
GeneLink and Arch began jointly developing the new category of “genetic” skin care formulations and an associated personalized skin-testing system in late 2001. The newest formulations feature a family of active ingredients, called SNP-Derms, that address some of the key individual genetic characeristics that can accelerate skin aging, skin wrinkling and other oxidative stress deficiencies in the skin.
The SNP-Derm formulations can be offered in combination with GeneLink’s Dermagenic Profile Assesment that provides a measure of an individual’s resistance to skin aging, irritation and tissue breakdown. More info: Website: www.genelink.info.
